German Track
The study program of the "German Track" focuses on the regulations of EU law, in particular on German patent and trademark law, competition law as well as copyright, data protection and media law. In addition, we regularly hold our "Practitioners' Forum" on Fridays, to which we invite practitioners from various fields of intellectual property activity from Germany and abroad to give presentations on current topics. Thereby students are optimally prepared not only for the requirements of a globalized labor market, but also for its special features in German law.
The German lectures in copyright law and industrial property law are each accompanied by exercises. In addition, the modules include an exercise on competition law and a workshop on private media law. The moot court, which is also included in the curriculum, takes place at the Dresden Higher Regional Court. Among others, the founder of the course, Prof. Horst-Peter Götting (retired honorary judge at the Higher Regional Court), and Dr. Martin Marx, judge at the Higher Regional Court in the responsible senate, regularly support us on the bench.
The language of instruction and examination is German. In addition, courses on special features of other legal systems as well as cross-border lectures are offered in English. The program is also designed in such a way that our students of the German track can also attend almost all events of the "International Track".
