We invite you to the 3rd International Summer School Human Rights in Theory and Practice of the Leipzig University and the Centre for Internaional Studies (CIS) of the TU Dresden.
This year's Summer School entitled “The Dynamic Evolution of Fundamental and Human Rights in Europe” covers topics such as religious freedom, migration, the digital space, climate litigation and the rule of law from an interdisciplinary perspective taking place from September 25th to 29th 2023 in Leipzig.
Speakers will include both academics as well as practitioners, offering insights into current theoretical discussions as well as the everyday challenges of practicing law. Participation in the Summer School also includes participation in this year's Rule of Law Conference, organised by the Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, Europe, and Equality, which will take place from 28 to 29 September in Leipzig. We are honoured to announce the participation of renown guests such as Koen Lenaerts (President of the CJEU), Katarina Barley (Vice-President of the EU Parliament), and Katja Meier (Saxon Minister of Justice).
Everybody is welcome! The Summer School is intended for advanced students of law, political science, international relations and similar fields. Prior knowledge about the European Human Rights System is beneficial but not mandatory.
The courses will be held in English.
