Doctorate and Habilitation
Since its integration into the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, the Institute of International Law, Intellectual Property and Technology Law is awarding the academic degree Doctor iuris (Dr. iur.) on the basis of a doctoral procedure.
A doctorate serves as a verification of both the notable capacity to conduct independent scientific work and of scientific expertise in the field of legal science which exceeds the general aim of studies.
The habilitation serves to formally establish the notable capacity to carry out research and to independently teach in a certain subject or subject area (Lehrbefähigung). Together with the habilitation, the permition to teach is granted.
