Teaching and research activities
The UNESCO Chair in International Relations was established in a ceremony at the TUD Dresden University of Technology on April 21, 2009. It is the first UNESCO Chair in International Relations worldwide.
The UNESCO Chair in International Relations was part of a global network of UNESCO Chairs in Germany and worldwide. In 1992, the UNITWIN Network/UNESCO Chairs Program was launched. It celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2017 and currently comprises around 710 Chairs in over 120 countries ( read more). The UNESCO Chair in International Relations was part of theNetwork of UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs and C2Cs related to Culture.
Within the framework of the UNESCO Chair in International Relations, teaching and research activities focused on the law and policy of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Click here for an overview of our core research areas and activities.
There is no personal income associated with holding a UNESCO Chair. There are regular and extensive reporting and accountability obligations towards UNESCO and the university (current Progress Report 2021-2023).
