Arriving by car
Motorway A4, exit for Dresden-Altstadt: Travel approximately 6.5 km following signs for Pirna/Prag until you reach Firtz-Förster-Platz close to the university campus. Turn right at Fritz-Förster-Platz into Bergstrasse.
Arriving by train/air
The nearest railway station is Dresden Hauptbahnhof (Central Station). ICE and IC trains arrive every two hours from Berlin, Frankfurt-Fulda-Leipzig or Nuremberg. There are direct flights to Dresden Airport from all large airports in Germany as well as a number of international connections. Use the Airport Express train to get to Dresden central railway station from the airport. The station is located beneath the new terminal. Journey time to Hauptbahnhof is about 23 minutes. Information on ticket prices is available here. After validating your ticket it is valid for a period of one hour. This means you can use the same ticket to continue on to the campus by bus.
The last few kilometres to the chair
A taxi stand is located to the south of the station (rear exit).
Walking (approx. 15 - 20 mins): From the central station, head south along Fritz-Löffler-Strasse. After about one kilometre, turn left onto Bergstrasse.
By bus: Take bus number 66 towards Mockritz/Coschütz from the central station. Get off the bus at the stop called "Technische Universität”. After getting off the bus, walk over the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the road and keep right. Bus and train tickets are available from ticket vending machines or from the bus driver.
