GROUND TRUTH traces Lena von Goedeke’s artistic work during her research residency at the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden. At the heart of her work is Arctic research, particularly the technologies used there, their potential, and the challenges they present. Her interest focuses both on the ethical and technological aspects of generating representations of the world and on the fragility and transience of material data storage media such as rock, fossils, and permafrost—which she explored in depth during her stay at the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the authors: Ingo Smit (The Schaufler Foundation), Kirsten Vincenz, Gwendolin Kremer, and Pauline Hohn (Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections at TUD and Schaufler Residency@TU Dresden), as well as Lilian Kroth (University of Fribourg) and Prof. Heiner Siedel (TUD) for the texts.
Special thanks go to Simone Deutsch (Sandstein Kultur Publishing) for the spot-on design, to Dr. Teresa Ende for her critical editing, and to Jessica Wood for the English translation.
