New videocast online: Katrin Becker in conversation with Nelly Saibel: Disembodiment as Flaw in Blockchain
In her lecture at the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden, Katrin Becker (University of Luxembourg/Collège International de Philosophie Paris) spoke about blockchain governance and the importance of a legal-philosophical critique of digital technologies. The focus was on the question of how blockchain technologies, in particular smart contracts and DAOs, shape our concepts of law, governance and subjectivity. Katrin Becker argues that blockchain introduces profound shifts in the concept of law and thus separates it from the material dimensions of human life. However, the supposed disembodiment in blockchain-based networks turns out to be a breaking point.

To the videocast format:
The Schaufler Kolleg@TU Dresden has created an innovative format in the form of the videocast, which brings the project focus on data↔worlds to life in a new way. In conversations, our doctoral students meet artists and scientists and explore the interfaces between art, research and digital society together. The format aims to open up diverse perspectives on the use of data in our time - critical, creative and interdisciplinary.
