Ted Chiang in conversation with Andrew Erickson: Artistic Context, GenAI, and the Dilution of Intention
Ted Chiang, award-winning science fiction author and one of the "100 most influential people in AI" (Time Magazine) reflected on authorship and the humanity of artistic decisions in the age of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in his interview with Andrew Erickson (Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden).
The interview was conducted as part of the videocast format. At the speakers's request, the session was not recorded as a video; the conversation in text form can be found here.
The dialogue starts with a brief presentation by Chiang based on his recent critical work on GenAI, as well as exploring key theses at the intersection of technological innovation, art and the humanities, and the visions of the future that shape contemporary political and material realities.
