Abstract
The doctoral project with the working title "Normativity in the Age of Blockchain" is in the field of political philosophy and examines the political and legal dimensions of decentralized data infrastructures using the example of the blockchain. At the center of the investigation are para-legal orders, particularly the so-called Lex Cryptographica (De Filippi/Wright, 2018), which are to be understood as the product of a technical materiality of software protocols and thus must be understood as a counter-model to democratic procedures of law/enforcement. Starting from an initially technology-historical perspective, normative orders based on socio-technical data realities are to be made tangible using the example of decentralized data infrastructures.
