A special concert evening dedicated to Giuseppe Sinopoli

The year 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Giuseppe Sinopoli (1946–2001), a prominent composer and conductor as well as a defining figure in European musical culture.

Following concerts at the Meistersaal, the Deutsche Oper, and the Berlin Philharmonic, the concert evening at the Tonne Jazz Club in Dresden will bring the #SINOPOLIANA series of events in Germany to a close.

The initiative is sponsored by the Italian Minister of Sports and Youth and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Berlin. The goal is to honor the artistic and cultural legacy of Giuseppe Sinopoli.

Music as a Tribute

Throughout the evening, the group Extradiction will pay tribute to Giuseppe Sinopoli with free improvisations inspired by his compositions. In doing so, musical heritage and improvisational freedom converge, opening up new perspectives on the composer’s work.

In collaboration with

• Italian Minister of Sports and Youth
• Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
• Center for Italian Studies at the TUD Dresden University of Technology

We cordially invite you to experience this special musical finale of the #SINOPOLIANA event series in Germany at the Tonne Jazz Club in Dresden.
