Tasks and Structure
The FSR Spralikuwi (Faculty Student Council) represents the whole student body (Fachschaft) of the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies. Elected annually, the Faculty Student Council has numerous university policy functions, but also cultural and advisory roles.
University policy
The Faculty Student Council represents the student body in the university student council (StuRa), the institute and faculty councils, the study commission, and the appointments, doctoral and examination commissions. Thus the Faculty Student Council is able to promote and defend student interests at the university, faculty and department level.
Advisory service
A large proportion of the student council’s work is advisory. All the members have weekly office hours, which you can find listed here. The student council does not only help with problems and difficulties related to your studies, but can also advise you about organising student events.
Financing & culture
The student council implements own financial projects, to plan student events or larger programmes like the ESE introductory events or the election. Besides this, the student council offers financial support for student projects, which often gets them off the ground. For example, we supported The Lies Vor! (Read Aloud) Festival in the summer semester of 2016.
