Orientation Program now open to all disciplines
It's official: The "STEM Orientation Program" has become the Orientation Program (German abbrev. OSM).
A survey on the Orientation Program revealed that the program, which was originally limited to the STEM field, should be opened up to all disciplines. More than 2,000 prospective students, students and employees within and outside the TU Dresden had participated in the survey.
Special modules have been added to the Orientation Program for prospective students who would later like to study a degree program in the humanities and social sciences. In Block B "Qualification", for example, OSM participants can attend the modules "Introduction to Academic Working I and II", where they can write their first academic text and then present the main findings to their OSM fellow students.
What is the Orientation Program?
The Orientation Program is a one- to two-semester program designed to help prospective students A) make a well-founded decision about which course to study and B) successfully begin their studies.
When does the Orientation Program start?
The OSM will start in the upcoming summer semester with a test run, which is mainly aimed at international prospective students. More information is available on the test run website. The pilot run will start in the winter semester 2023/24.
