Poster on the occasion of the guest lecture “Léonora Mianos' *L'intérieur de la nuit* (2005) – Africa in Crisis” by Dr. Diana Haußmann (Free University of Berlin) on June 18, 2018 at TU Dresden.
Berlin-based Romance studies scholar Diana Haußmann analyzed the multi-award-winning debut novel *L’Intérieur de la nuit* by Cameroonian author Léonora Miano with regard to its portrayal of Africa in crisis.
Léonora Miano is regarded as a keen analyst of persistent colonial structures and their effects on postcolonial subjects. In her novels, she casts a critical eye on “African” identity narratives.
Her debut novel, named the best debut of 2005 by the French literary magazine *Lire*, has been honored with numerous awards, including the Prix Montalembert du premier roman de femme (2006), the Prix Réné Fallet (2006), and the Prix de l’excellence camerounaise ( 2007).
As part of the seminar “Littératures francophones de l’extrême contemporain” led by Prof. Dr. Roswitha Böhm.
