Hanane Essaydi teaches and conducts research at Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakesh and is an expert on Francophone Sub-Saharan African literature and postcolonial theories.
In her two lectures, she examined, on the one hand, the use of humor and irony in the Francophone Sub-Saharan novel and, on the other hand, the relationship between literature and society in the context of the “social turn.”
The lectures were delivered in French as part of the seminar “Littératures francophones de l’extrême contemporain” by Prof. Dr. Roswitha Böhm.
