In this workshop with researcher Sybila Guéneau from EHESS (Paris), the “néo-polar” genre was introduced, and the session explored how this form of crime fiction deals with the representation of reality while taking a stance on social and political issues.
She spoke as part of the seminar “Lupin, Maigret & Co.: The French-Language Crime Novel as a Mirror of Society” led by Dr. Matthias Kern.
