About the Book
Sahar and Lorca lead a happy family life with their daughter Tishka. When Tishka’s bed is empty one morning, even though all the windows and doors are locked, everything changes. While Sahar withdraws into herself and believes Tishka has been abducted, Lorca investigates an urban legend: He suspects that Tishka is among the so-called “Fugitives,” beings who supposedly live undetected in the blind spots of our perception. When strange symbols appear on the wall of her bedroom, one thing is certain: Tishka is alive, and she’s trying to communicate. Sahar and Lorca venture into an alien world. It soon becomes clear that the Fugitives have the ability to radically reinterpret supposed necessities…
About the Author
The novelist Alain Damasio, born in Lyon in 1969, depicts capitalism in its final stages, shaped by lobbying: We are not monitored in order to be oppressed, but so that things can be sold to us that make life under surveillance more bearable. “The Fugitives” (“Les Furtifs”) was celebrated by critics and audiences alike in France.
