French and Italian. The Spanish Philology module can be added to the French or Italian specialization in the 3rd year of study. Spanish and Portuguese language courses can be attended at TUDIAS (TU Dresden's language training program) and can be credited in the elective modules "Foreign Languages" of the General Qualification (AQua). In addition, it is possible to take advantage of the "Regional Studies Latin America" (ReLa) course offered by the Institute of Romance Studies.
Normally not. However, look out for any such information in the comments on the individual courses under Courses offered. The situation is different with the (online) registration for the examination of the courses attended: see no. 6 and the information on the pages of the Examination Office.
In the 2nd year of study the seminars marked PS (= Proseminar), in the 3rd year of study the seminars marked S (Seminar).
1st year of study:
French or Italian language exercises I (4 SWS) and language exercises II (4 SWS).
2nd year of study:
French or Italian language exercises III (4 SWS), then for French two language learning seminars of your choice (2 SWS each), for Italian language exercises IV (part 1 and part 2, 2 SWS each).
3rd year of study:
French or Italian oral communication (2 SWS) and essay (2 SWS)

Every examination you wish to take must be registered with the Examination Office . Information on this can be found on the Examination Office website and in the FAQ section.
a) Matriculation from 01.10.2016-30.09.2020
The examination lasts 45 minutes. To prepare for the oral examination, students should contact the person responsible for the specialization module (consultation).
b) Matriculation 01.10.2013-30.09.2016:
In this oral examination, which has a duration of 30 minutes, two topics from the chosen specialization, previously agreed with the responsible professor, will be discussed. Approx. 15 min. are planned for each topic, one of the two topics will be examined in the foreign language. For registration modalities for this examination, see the pages of the Examination Office.

This is only recommended from the 2nd semester onwards.

Depending on the chosen combination of subjects, a 5-week or 10-week stay abroad is required in the Bachelor's degree program. If the sub-subject Romance Studies is combined with English and American Studies or Slavic Studies, 5 weeks are planned (crediting of 5 credit points); in the case of a combination with other sub-subjects, a duration of 10 weeks is planned (crediting of 10 credit points). The stay abroad can take the form of practical work abroad (internship), a period of study at a foreign university (see Erasmus stay), language courses or, exceptionally, as a foreign language assistant.
In order to obtain the 5 or 10 credit points required, a 5-6 page report must be prepared and submitted to the subject advisor. You can find guidelines for preparing the report here. The report is graded.
The topic of the Bachelor's thesis can be written in one of the sub-subjects studied, making it the first major subject.
