Eastern European Film Days (OEFT) from November 16 to 24, 2024 in Schauburg & Zentralkino
The 12th Eastern European Film Days Dresden (OEFT2024) will take place from November 16 to 24, 2024!
CINEMA [BETWEEN] WORLDS
We look to the East and Southeast with our film days and call them "Eastern European Film Days", knowing full well that the title does not do justice to every point of view.
Some time ago, we spoke to a Polish friend who told us that her fellow countrymen and women would not immediately expect Polish films at the "Eastern European Film Days", because Poland is not in Eastern Europe. That's right. Seen from Dresden, Poland is in the east, from Russia in the west, geographically Poland belongs to Central Europe. Our friend then said, not entirely seriously, that Poland might lie between the worlds.
Our motto for 2024 was found: Cinema between worlds: between generations and genders, between city and country, between home and abroad, between countries, between times, between yesterday and tomorrow, between forgetting and remembering, between prohibition and freedom, ...
