Ukrainian courses in summer semester 2025
Two Ukrainian language courses at levels A1 and A2 will be offered for the summer semester 2025.
All interested students are cordially invited to participate!
The course “Ukrainian A” introduces alphabet, the elementary grammar of
modern Ukrainian language and vocabulary. It includes the four modes of
communication: writing, reading, listening and speaking. The work with texts and
dialogues will allow you to tell about yourself, friends, family, appearance, house, hobbies, dishes etc. You will also know about Kyiv-the capital of Ukraine and many interesting facts about Ukraine.
You do not need any prior knowledge to take the course.
The supporting language will be English.

Ukrainian is an East Slavic language, spoken by about 50 million people in Ukraine and around the world. Do you have an interest in learning Ukrainian? Then we invite you to the Institute of Slavic Studies for a course «Ukrainian A2».
To participate in the course you must have a basic knowledge of the Ukrainian language: alphabet, the elementary grammar of modern Ukrainian language and vocabulary (according to level A1). Basic knowledge of other Slavic languages (Russian or Belarusian) may also be a precondition for participation in the course.
The supporting language will be English.

Enrollment for the courses is via OPAL. Credit acquisition via Aqua language modules or LA supplementary area is possible.
