Master's programme "European Languages"
The introductory event for the Master European Languages will take place on Tuesday, 7.10.2025 at 9 a.m. in the OpenScienceLab (OSL2) Zellescher Weg 21-25 (entrance Zellescher Weg 25).
This is a degree program in linguistics. The aim is therefore to develop comprehensive linguistic knowledge and skills.
The degree program is designed to be interdisciplinary within the philologies. Our graduates study linguistics in German Studies, English Studies, Romance Studies, Slavic Studies and Classical Philology. In particular, they acquire skills in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary working methods within the framework of linguistics.
Thanks to the flexible organization of the degree course, students can choose subject-specific specializations and have them listed on their degree certificate (English/American Studies, Romance Studies, Slavic Studies, Classical Philology, German Studies or German as a Foreign and Second Language).
The degree program is multilingual. In addition to English and German, the course includes the acquisition or development of at least one Romance language and one Slavic language.
The course structure leaves plenty of scope for individual study. Our graduates are therefore able to take on academic and practical coordination tasks independently.
Practical components, e.g. exhibitions or conferences, enable our graduates to plan and carry out projects independently .
The acquisition of an additional modern foreign language and a stay abroad strengthen the intercultural skills of our graduates.
