IHI Zittau represents TUD at 1st Saxon-Mongolian Education Fair
Dr. Oyundelger Khurelpurev, IHI alumna and doctoral student at the cooperative chair of Plant Biodiversity at the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz, represented TUD together with Dr. Andrea Strützel from TUDIAS at the 1st Saxon-Mongolian Education Fair in Ulaanbaatar. The initiative for this very first education fair of German universities in Mongolia came from the former TUD Chancellor and current State Secretary at the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture, and Tourism, Dr. Andreas Handschuh, while Prof. Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht, Rector of TU Bergakademie Freiberg, led the representation of the Saxon universities on the university side. The event was hosted by the Mongolian Ministry of Education and Science.
In addition to networking workshops between the universities of both countries and the education fair, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Free State of Saxony and the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology.
Dr. Khurelpurev not only provided advice on the Organismic and Molecular Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services degree programmes run jointly with Senckenberg, she also reported that Mongolian visitors to the fair were very interested in IHI and TUD degree programmes in the fields of economics and engineering.
