The IHK Hosted an Employers' Conference at the IHI Zittau
Under the motto “Shaping the World of Work: Fair, Open, Future-Proof,” the Zittau office of the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the Chamber of Crafts (HWK), the Job Center, the Employment Agency, and the Görlitz District Craftsmen’s Association invited companies from the Bautzen district to the IHI Zittau at TU Dresden on August 20.
After a welcome address by IHI Director Prof. Thorsten Claus (pictured), the participants attended three workshops of their choice.
In between, light refreshments provided an opportunity for networking and conversation.
As part of the project “Cultural Fit”, coordinated by Prof. Claus at the Chair of Production Economy and Information Technology —Finding, Retaining, and Winning Back Employees,” Hedwig Kaszycki and Martha Adolphi led the workshop“Convincing as an Employer Through Corporate Culture,” in which participants were able to identify the specific strengths of their corporate culture and learn how to make these strengths visible in everyday work. They also learned how these strengths can be used as credible unique selling points, for example, in job postings. Practical “cultural hacks” demonstrated how to shape and further develop corporate culture in a targeted manner.
In addition, the following workshops were offered:
Job Descriptions as “Lures” for Top Talent
Facilitators: Annette Matthes – Bautzen Employment Agency and Alexander Rauscher – AI Trainer at the Chemnitz SME Digital Center
If you use the right bait, you have a good chance of catching the right fish. Are your job postings the right bait? This workshop focuses on providing inspiration and sharing experiences on how to successfully target different audiences. We’ll explore how artificial intelligence can help you do this.
Attracting International Professionals – Best Practices at Hotel Insel der Sinne
Moderators: Katharina Domschke and Anke Beyer – Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce
How can you find the right employees despite a shortage of skilled workers? The pilot project “Hand in Hand for International Talents” uses the example of the Hotel Insel der Sinne to demonstrate how international recruitment works in practice. Two qualified professionals have already been successfully recruited from third countries and integrated into the team—a concrete example of the success of modern, cross-border recruitment. The workshop provides insights into the entire process, highlights opportunities and challenges, and makes it clear: international talent is not a vision of the future, but already a reality.

Employing people with severe disabilities opens up new perspectives for companies—from securing a skilled workforce to fostering team diversity. This workshop highlights the potential that people with severe disabilities bring to workplaces and identifies the factors crucial for their sustainable integration.
