The founding conference of stsing e.V. will take place at TU Dresden from March 19 to 22, 2024 under the title "Leakage" . stsing e.V. is an internationally oriented specialist society for Science & Technology Studies (STS), which focuses on the connection between society, science and technology in line with the orientation of the research field and is committed to more inclusive and participatory science and technology. Around 250 participants from 21 countries are expected to attend the conference, who will present socially and ecologically critical perspectives on current developments in the areas of the environment (climate change, pollution, energy, transformation, etc.), datafication and digitalisation (privacy, datification, artificial intelligence, etc.), the body, medicine and health (health apps, prevention, diagnostic procedures, pain detection, neurodiversity, endocrinology, etc.) and discuss interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research approaches. In this way, they provide important impulses for reflection and action for socially and environmentally responsible research and development, which are also important for scientists from the fields of engineering, construction & environment and medicine.
