The faculty welcomes Dr. Gregor Damnik as the chair representative of the Professor of Didactics of Computer Science
As of September 1, Dr. rer. nat. Gregor Damnik will take over the replacement of the professorship for didactics of computer science and act as director of the student computer center. At the same time, he will be appointed as the representative for the teaching-related study programs.
Gregor Damnik has long been associated with TU Dresden and the Faculty of Computer Science. From 2008 to 2016, he worked in the working group "Didactics of Computer Science/Teacher Education" on the conception, creation and evaluation of various learning level analyses in the school subject Computer Science.
At the Chair of Psychology of Teaching and Learning, he supported projects such as "Synergetic Teacher Education in an Excellent Framework" (TUD-Sylber) as a research assistant from 2011 to 2019, as well as the training of student teachers in topics such as media psychology, applied learning theories, and task design.
After a research stay at the Centre for Research in Applied Measurement and Evaluation (CRAME) at the University of Alberta in Canada in 2015, Gregor Damnik completed his PhD in educational psychology at TU Dresden in 2017 on the topic of "Learning through the design of digital learning environments". From 2019-2021, he was a research assistant in the context of TUD-Sylber² at the Chair of Didactics of Computer Science, responsible, among other things, for the training of student teachers, before he moved to "Schullogin - the central entry portal for digital services at Saxon schools" at the ZLSB of TU Dresden.
Dr. Gregor Damnik: "I am pleased to be able to qualify students of computer science teaching during my time at the faculty. These will later produce accomplished students who represent our next generation and are urgently needed. In addition, what excites me about this position is being able to advance my research projects in the fields of digital learning, automatic task generation, and learning level diagnostics together with my international and national partners."
We look forward to working with Dr. Gregor Damnik and wish him every success in his endeavors!
