Matchmaking app brings TU Dresden students together
New to the university, new to studying, fellow students strangers - the start of studies last year was particularly difficult due to the pandemic, as direct contact was lacking. This gave four students from the Faculty of Computer Science the idea of developing a matchmaking app called "matchinit" for students at our university, which not only helps you find course participants and form study groups. University-wide, you can search for like-minded people who have the same interests as you, exchange ideas with them and thus build your own network. Registration for the app is only possible with a university login; data protection is important to the developers.
The pilot phase has started with 1000 seats. "The interest during the freshman orientation (ESE) was great." Sylvia Schnaus is pleased. "Our app helps bring together the right people through all subject semesters and across study programs - whether you're looking for a study or practice partner or someone for a game night or to go jogging together." Currently, the app is ready for Android devices and in the planning stages for IOS devices.
