NETWORK STUDIO for energy research at TU Dresden
On March 24, the NETWORK STUDIOfor energy research took place in the Dülfersaal at TU Dresden. The aim of the meeting was to link energy research more closely with the university's sustainability strategy.
Vice-Rector Research, Prof. Angela Rösen-Wolff, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such events for a well-founded professional exchange and interdisciplinary cooperation. She also emphasized that the implementation of the energy transition and the operation of a robust, secure energy grid represent a major challenge.
PD Stephan Schlegel then gave a keynote speech in which he presented the planned roadmap as well as initial core research areas and interfaces that are crucial for a secure and resilient energy supply in the future.
In intensive group discussions, professors and Research Associates from various disciplines - including engineering, civil and environmental sciences, humanities and social sciences as well as mathematics and natural sciences - exchanged views on the topics of sector coupling, energy and data networks and interfaces. The groups were moderated by Prof. Christiane Thomas, Prof. Antonio Hurtado, Prof. Peter Schegner, Prof. Clemens Felsmann, Prof. Uwe Aßmann and Prof. Pascal Kerschke.
At the end of the NETZWERKSTUDIO, key topics and initial project outlines were compiled. It became clear that, in addition to technical challenges, political, economic and social aspects in particular are crucial for a successful energy transition.
