Prof. Andrés Lasagni included in the Photonics100 List 2025
Prof. Andrés Lasagni, Chair of Laser-based Manufacturing at TU Dresden, Director of the Center for Advanced Micro-Photonics (CAMP) at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS and co-founder of SurFunction GmbH, has been included in the prestigious Photonics100 list 2025. This award recognizes the most influential and innovative personalities in the field of optics and photonics.
Lasagni was selected for his outstanding pioneering work in the development and application of optical concepts for micromaterial processing. In particular, he has made groundbreaking advances in the field of Direct Laser Interference Patterning. With over 30 patents and more than 300 scientific publications, he has made a significant contribution to the further development of this field of technology and created innovative solutions for industrial applications.
"It is a great honor to be part of the Photonics100 and to be included in the ranks of the world's leading personalities in photonics," says Prof. Lasagni. "This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my team over the last few years. Together we have made groundbreaking advances in laser technology that have opened up new possibilities for industrial applications. I look forward to continuing to work with partners from academia and industry to further advance photonics."
The Photonics100 has been published by Europa Science's trade journal "Electro Optics" for the past three years and nominates players in the categories of photonics suppliers, original equipment manufacturers using photonics, start-ups and science and research.
