Knowledge for Life: TU Dresden will host over 200 events during the Dresden Science Night on June 14, 2024, featuring activities for all – even soccer fans will get a kick out of it!
Discover the vast diversity of science at the 21st Dresden Science Night at TUD Dresden University of Technology on June 14, 2024. Starting at 5:00 pm, join TUD and Dresden’s scientists for an evening of interactive research, experiments, and learning. Visitors can expect an exciting and educational evening full of discoveries, knowledge and entertainment with over 200 events hosted at TU Dresden.
There’s even something for soccer fans: The opening match of UEFA EURO 2024 between Germany and Scotland will be broadcast live on the lawn behind the Auditorium Center – including a warm-up with humorous insights into the world of soccer phrases from "soccer linguist" and researcher Prof. Simon Meier-Vieracker.
Inspiring people – and providing insights into research
Gain unique and individual insights into the research fields of scientists with guided tours of the Computer Center, special acoustic rooms, the model nuclear reactor and many other laboratories. Lectures, exhibitions and numerous experiments are all included in the program and vividly convey the “how-to” behind the science. And many events offer family-friendly activities with experiments for younger audiences.

When does it start?
The 21st Dresden Science Night will take place on June 14, 2024 from 5 pm to midnight.
How much does it cost?
Participation in all events is free of charge. All visitors to the Dresden Science Night can use DVB public transport for free from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.
What is Dresden Science Night?
During the Dresden Science Night, Dresden's universities, non-university research institutions and science-related companies – more than 50 scientific institutions in total – open up their buildings, laboratories, lecture halls and archives to the public. Everyone can experience science and technology, research and innovation, art and culture up close in a variety of lectures, experiments, guided tours, exhibitions and films.
