Novel Haptic Interface Testing in Experimental Operating Room
Surgeons are often deprived of direct haptic interaction with tissue especially in laproscopic tool or robot mediated interactions. Instead of relying on other modalities, our innovative prototype aims to provide intuitive haptic feedback to the finger tip beyond sole kinesthetic or vibrotactile feedback for such soft object interaction to enable the surgeon to better estimate forces applied to tissue and it's compliance at the tool tip.
