Artificial intelligence for your pocket - object recognition with a mini-computer
What is artificial intelligence (AI) and how can you use it? How can you use AI, for example, to find vocabulary in a foreign language on holiday? And why do you need neural networks and what are they anyway?
Many future problems are extremely complicated and AI can help solve some of them. However, today's computers are reaching the limits of their further development. That's why we are researching new ways to generate higher computing power while using less electricity to reduce the impact of computer use on the world's climate. Faster computing with fewer emissions sounds great, doesn't it? Why does analogue computing in particular promise so much research potential here?
You can get answers to all these questions and this up-and-coming branch of research on Girls' Day! Here you will build a prototype for a translation machine with a mini-computer and LEGO and learn a lot about the topic of artificial intelligence and the study opportunities at TU Dresden.
The workshop is suitable for girls from grade 9 and no special knowledge is required.
