CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: SMART GRID - ONLINE COURSES - Registration NOW OPEN!
Smart Grids is a topic we hear more and more about nowadays. But what are Smart Grids?
Smart Grids represent intelligent grids, which are equipped with smart sensors for data acquisition, an information technology infrastructure and control algorithms. They can e.g. help to optimize the utilization of renewable energies and therefore support the energy transition. However, the topic of Smart Grids covers also many other different aspects, which makes it very challenging but also very interesting.
To increase the awareness for issues related to Smart Grids and the ongoing energy transition, a free online course for researchers and workforce in the field of electrical engineering has been developed within the EU Horizon 2020 project SMAGRINET. Scientists from TU Dresden (TUD) and TU Berlin (TUB) as well as from four other European Universities have joined their expertise to create a massive open online course (MOOC).
The course opening date is the 15th February.
The online course includes short videos, articles, related links and exercises to approach the topic of Smart Grids. It comprises in total 44 lectures (divided into 5 chapters) and is designed for a duration of around 5 weeks, which corresponds to a weekly expenditure of 3-4 hours. The course is in English. A certificate will be provided upon a successful completion of the course.
As a participant, you can determine both the start date and the pace of learning that fits your personal schedule. All you need is internet access. Each course includes two live sessions, where you have the opportunity to ask experts from TUD and TUB and to discuss specific topics.
To enroll in one of the groups “Engineering researcher” or “Electrical engineering workforce”, please use the respective link listed below:
- Engineering researcher: For those who conduct their research in the area of electrical engineering, thereby having a possible intersection with the topic of smart grids or the energy transition, but still have no or only little knowledge about it and for those researchers who are just interested in the topic and want to gain an insight into it.
