SOMAK - Solare magnetokalorische Klimatisierung von Gebäuden

Die Energiewende stellt für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland eine der größten Herausforderungen
in der jüngeren Geschichte dar. Beschränkten sich die Diskussionen und Handlungsfelder in den
zurückliegenden Jahren hauptsächlich auf den Bereich der Elektroenergieversorgung, so rückte in
jüngster Vergangenheit zunehmend der Gebäudesektor in den Fokus der Betrachtungen. Flankiert
wird diese Entwicklung durch soziale Fragestellungen hinsichtlich der Sanierung von Gebäuden
und der daraus resultierenden Kosten. Gesellschaftlicher Konsens in der BRD ist, dass der Anteil
an ”regenerativen Energien” besonders auch im Gebäudebereich zunehmen soll. Gleichzeitig soll
der Aspekt der Energieeffizienz stärker berücksichtigt werden.
Der Heizfall von Gebäuden ist innerhalb der Gebäudeenergietechnik technisch weit entwickelt,
da Systemlösungen seit vielen Jahren zur Verfügung stehen. Der Kühl- bzw. Klimatisierungsfall
wird traditionell weniger stark betrachtet, da die klimatischen Verhältnisse im Sommer eher
weniger kritisch sind. Bedingt durch die aktuelle Baupraxis, welche durch einen hohen Glasflächenanteil
und den sich verschärfenden Wärmeschutz geprägt ist, wird der sommerliche Kühlund
Klimatisierungsfall jedoch zunehmend bedeutender und Bedarf somit neuer technologischer
und effizienter Ansätze.
Innerhalb des avisierten Forschungsvorhabens soll vor diesem Hintergrund die DEC-Klimaanlage1
weiterentwickelt werden. Im Speziellen soll die Integration regenerativer Energien in den Gebäudesektor
durch Anwendung einer magnetokalorischen Kühleinheit gesteigert werden. Hierdurch
ergeben sich positive Effekte auf das Betriebsverhalten und die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von derartigen
Klimaanlagen. Eine Einbettung der regelbaren Klimaanlagen in dezentrale oder verbundorientierte
Energiemanagementsysteme wie z.B. dem Regionalen Virtuellen Kraftwerk erschließen
eine Flexibilität für das Lastmanagement und lassen gute Vermarktungsmöglichkeiten in der Zukunft
erwarten.
Das Forschungsvorhaben stellt einen typischen Transformationsprozess aus den Grundlagenwissenschaften
über die Ingenieurwissenschaften bis in die industrielle Anwendung, d.h. bis zu einem
arbeitsfähigen Demonstrator dar. Zunächst soll in einem ersten Schritt eine Materialauswahl erfolgen, bei denen die Kriterien Kühlleistung, Verarbeitung, Kosten, Verfügbarkeit
sowie die Umweltverträglichkeit des Materials im Mittelpunkt stehen. Im zweiten Schritt wird
ein Demonstrator aufgebaut, der hinsichtlich konstruktiver Parameter wärmetechnisch und magnetisch
zu optimieren ist. In einem dritten Schritt erfolgt der Test des Demonstrators in einer
virtuellen Testumgebung (Hardware in the Loop). Begleitet werden die Arbeiten durch numerische
Simulationen, die das Betriebsverhalten sowie den energetischen Vergleich zu derzeit schon
verfügbaren konventionellen Kühleinrichtungen aufzeigen. Erklärtes Ziel des Projektes ist es, eine
Technologie zu schaffen, die besonders auf DEC-Klimaanlagen abgestimmt ist und nach Projektende
unmittelbar in ein Produkt überführt werden kann.
