The professorship introduces itself
The electricity supply system is currently undergoing fundamental changes. In addition to the integration of decentralized and intermittent power generation facilities (wind and solar power plants), electric vehicles are also expected to be connected to the low-voltage grid in the future.
In addition, small and very small combined heat and power plants—so-called micro-CHP plants—are being integrated into this grid. In the future, a very large proportion of electrical energy will be produced at the current distribution grid level. This will give rise to entirely new requirements for operational management, selective protection, and supply quality in these grids. Fundamental research is also necessary in the context of system management (stability, voltage regulation, etc.).
