„The ITRS (International Roadmap of Semiconductors)”
Looking at the continuous miniaturization in microelectronics, how will it continue? There must be a limit. Certainly, when a device consist only out of a few atoms. So far the development in microelectronics was governed by scaling, which worked fine within the last 40 Years. It was relatively easy to forecast the features of the upcoming generations. But now the simple geometrical scaling can not be applied any more and new concepts have to be developed. The ITRS (International Roadmap of Semiconductors) http://public.itrs2.net/ expresses a common industry view on all aspects of chip manufacturing.
In the upcoming Seminar, we want to take a closer look to the ITRS as a guideline for future technology in CMOS. After an introduction into the field, we will define specific topics and the participants will prepare presentations (about 20 min), which serve as basis for further discussions within the group.
Besides the technical training, the seminar offers also an opportunity to practice rhetorical skills.
The first appointment to organize the seminar will be on Friday 17th october 2025 the 2nd DS (9:20 h) room N63/A001/U
