Objectives of the LAB

In particular, the lab will investigate bidirectional energy flows through decentralized energy converters and the efficient use of infrastructure in order to prevent critical states in the grid. This lays the foundation for a future overall concept for the energy grid and the coupling of individual forms of energy. As part of the joint research and development projects, the aim is to achieve cross-sectoral cooperation that includes the fields of economics, transport, social sciences and law. Following the establishment and development of the lab with a specific lab organization and scientific advisory board, cross-functional projects are to be established, the results of which will be published and support teaching and transfer, e.g. through the development of demonstrators.

Principles of equality, diversity and sustainability

The LAB will make its contribution to the principles of gender equality, sustainable development, equal opportunities and non-discrimination by providing information about the existing offers at TU Dresden and actively using them to make cooperation in the increasingly complex working, research and study environment fair and appreciative for all. Examples of activities are listed below:

• Awareness in event organization, respectful and appreciative interaction and communication
• Organizing seminars for doctoral students
• Organization of interdisciplinary (international) summer schools with as equal a number of participants as possible (cooperation with International office/ EUTOPIA/ gender equality)
• Information and motivation to participate in further education offers and consideration of work-life balance (e.g. meeting times, mobile working options, ...) as well as use of the self-learning offers and tools of TU Dresden (Ga, ZfW), e.g. types and solutions of conflicts, unconscious bias, compliance etc.
• Events for interested students, mentoring and role models
• Cooperation with equal opportunities officers of the faculties and the department
• Cooperation with the GreenOffice and the Sustainability Ambassadors network

Participation in (regulars' table) events, e.g. ConnectING by providing information and specialist input.
