The Research Training Group 2323 was represented by Hannes Ernst at the conference "Computing in Cardiology" (CinC), which was held under special COVID-19 arrangements in Rimini, Italy this year. His contribution More Reliable Remote Heart Rate Measurement by Signal Quality Indexes was awarded with the Rosanna Degani Young Investigator Award (semi-finalist). The work demonstrates how signal quality parameters can be used to evaluate the validity of a heart rate measurement in camera-based photoplethysmography. Especially motion-rich scenarios, including monitoring at the workplace, benefit from this approach.
