Marc Satkowski presented posters at ISMAR 2021 and VIS 2021
In the past month, Marc Satkowski participated at two virtual conferences through poster presentations. Both poster are focused on the idea of enabling the creation, placement, and layout process of and for information visualization directly into the immersive environment were those visualization should be used or presented in. For that, he and his co-authors Weizhou Luo and Raimund Dachselt made use of a spatially tracked smartphone to leverage the commonly known usage of such mobile devices in combinaton with their tangability and haptcis.
The first poster is called "A Visualization Authoring Model for Post-WIMP Interfaces" and was presented at the IEEE Visualization & Visual Analytics (VIS) conference. It focuses on creating a model that can be used for the design and implementation of future Authoring systems and highlights the need for iterative authoring processe.
The second poster is called "Towards In-situ Authoring of AR Visualizations with Mobile Devices" and was presented at the IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR). It focuses on creating an prototype application that enables the creation and placement of arbitrary visualizuation directly in Augmented Reality.
