On May 7, 2025, Dr.-Ing. Zhenbi Wang defended her dissertation "Methodical Development of Active Compliant Mechanisms Driven by Shape Memory Alloy Wire" under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Sven Wießner (Institute of Materials Science at TU Dresden) as part of the Research Training Group 2430 "Interactive Fiber-Elastomer Composites" at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology at TU Dresden.

The doctoral thesis was reviewed by Prof. Dr. Niels Modler (Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology at TU Dresden) and Prof. Dr. Song Lin (Tongji University, Shanghai). Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Maik Gude (Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology, TU Dresden) as examiner and Prof. Dr. Markus Kästner (Institute of Solid Mechanics, TU Dresden) accompanied the doctoral procedure.
