International colloquium in Pavia

What a great week in Pavia!

Our international colloquium of our DFG research group GRK2868 D³, took place in collaboration with the CompMech@UniPV group of Ferdinando Auricchio from 06.-10.10.2025. We spent an inspiring week full of scientific exchange, discussions and new ideas. The impressive venue Palazzo Vistarino created a very special and creative atmosphere.

After a warm welcome by Alessandro Reali, the new Rector of the University of Pavia, researchers from Pavia and GRK2868 D³ opened the event with keynotes on topics that are at the heart of D³ and beyond, opening up new opportunities for joint research. The session was complemented by pitches and a poster session by postdocs and doctoral students.

Over the following two days, we focused on the progress of the D³ fellows and developed new ideas for the second cohort of doctoral students together with our international mentors Min-Ha Lee and Nikhilesh Chawla.

Many thanks to the team in Pavia and especially to Mihaela Chiappetta for making this event possible.
