iBoB – inclusive professional education without barriers
The aim of the model project iBoB is to develop, test and anchor a training platform for the blind and visually impaired employees in the long term. The intended project was initiated by the Deutscher Verein der Blinden und Sehbehinderten in Studium und Beruf e.V. (german society for the blind and visually impaired people related to studies and profession) and is supported by the chair of MCI as a project partner.
The primary objectives are to provide relevant and accessible training programs centrally for affected persons and to offer them an individual consulting service as a peer-to-peer advice. In the process they will be supported by employed mentors, who are blind or visually impaired themselves, to develop fitting perspectives together.
Moreover, another focus is to sensitize employers and training providers in this subject. If required, they will be trained particularly with regard to accessible documents and teaching methods.
Duration of the project: 1 October 2016 to 30 September 2019
