Mariano Beguerisse Díaz is keynote speaker for OUTPUT.DD
Mariano Beguerisse Díaz is a Senior Research Manager at Spotify and a visiting researcher at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oxford. His research areas are network science and machine learning applied to video/audio understanding, entity resolution and content moderation.
In his talk “The vital connection is made: Network modeling @ Spotify” on June 13 at 14:00 in E023, he will give a brief overview of research at Spotify and, more generally, how industrial research differs from academic research.
Mariano Beguerisse Díaz completed his Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics at the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) in 2007, followed by a Master's degree in “Mathematical Modeling and Scientific Computing” on the topic of “Analysis of a Bipartite Network of Movie Ratings and Catalogue Network Growth Models” at the University of Oxford. In 2012, he completed his PhD at Imperial College London on “Modeling of Integrated Signalling Networks in Stomatal Guard Cells”.
