DR. ANDREAS GRILLENBERGER ELECTED TO THE GI EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Dr. Andreas Grillenberger holds a doctorate in computer science didactics and has been a member of the Chair of Didactics of Computer Science at the Institute of Software and Multimedia Technology since 2025. He has been actively involved in the Gesellschaft für Informatik e. V. (German Informatics Society) on educational topics for many years, including in the state teacher specialist groups and the Didactics of Computer Science specialist group. He has been a member of the steering committee of the FG DDI since 2018 and represented the specialist group as spokesperson from 2019 to 2025. He is also the managing editor of the German journal "ibis - Informatik und Schule", which covers a wide range of topics relating to computer science education and prepares them for teachers.
On the GI Executive Committee, I would like to focus in particular on topics relating to computer science education. As the largest German professional association in the field of computer science, the GI not only brings together stakeholders from research and industry, but also explicitly addresses people from the field of computer science education. For many years, the GI has been intensively involved in the introduction and further development of computer science as a compulsory subject, provides impetus in terms of content and is broadly and effectively networked with its members. In addition, the Executive Board is the central place for providing strategic impetus for the further development of the GI as a whole. I would like to contribute my experience and perspective here, support the expansion of existing activities, initiate new ideas and thus contribute to the sustainable further development of the GI and its tasks.
