Mikolai Gütschow (links), Doktorand an der Professur für Distributed and Networked Systems, präsentiert RIOT auf der Embedded World 2025.
Together with the Barkhausen Institute, the Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems will be represented at the Embedded World 2025 trade fair from March 11 to 13. The trade fair appearance is under the motto "Trustworthiness for a Connected World" and demonstrates innovative approaches to secure networking in industrial applications. Embedded World is the leading trade fair for embedded systems and has been held annually in Nuremberg since 2003. The exhibition stand is located in Hall 5, Stand 5-179 in the 'Safety & Security' area. The Chair will be presenting the open source operating system RIOT.
RIOT is a free, open-source operating system that is being continuously developed by TU Dresden and a worldwide open-source community. It supports a wide range of IoT devices with low power consumption, different microcontroller architectures (32-bit, 16-bit, 8-bit) and external devices such as sensors and actuators. RIOT aims to implement all relevant open standards that support a connected, secure, durable and privacy-friendly Internet of Things.
At Embedded World, the use of RIOT will be demonstrated for digital payment using GNU Taler and in the field of home automation.
