Study Advisor
The Chair of Didactics of Computer Science provides studentadvisory services for teacher training programs in computer science. You are therefore in the right place when it comes to subject-related/computer science-specific topics (e.g. with regard to specific modules, subject-related issues such as swapping the module sequence, etc.) - not general questions about studying such as BAföG, enrolment and the like.
Ideally, you should contact the Student Advisory Service by email at . Please describe your concerns so that we can assess whether a consultation by e-mail, in person or virtually is appropriate. Please also note the information below in the FAQ.

FAQ on student counseling
The Chair of Didactics of Computer Science publishes a preliminary and a final timetable each semester as a service to our students. This should make it easier for you to find this information. The timetable is published as a news item on the homepage of the chair's website.
Unfortunately, the time of publication cannot be predicted in advance, as we are dependent on other departments. You can assume that as long as no provisional timetable has been published, no reliable information on teaching planning is available - accordingly, neither we nor the lecturers can provide any relevant information (even on request). We try to publish the schedule as early as possible; for example, this was already possible at the beginning of September for the winter semester 2025/26 - while in the summer semester 2025 it was unfortunately only possible two weeks before the start of lectures.
Here we have to distinguish between two cases:
1. courses offered by the Chair of Didactics of Computer Science
Our OPAL courses may currently only be activated at the start of the courses. However, there is no urgency for you to register/enrol in OPAL, as we can provide sufficient capacity for each of you to complete your studies regularly - you will not be unable to attend the course due to lack of space.
You will receive all information in the first course.
2nd course of another Chair
Please contact the lecturer(s) of the course - or if you cannot find out who they are, please contact the module coordinator named in the module handbook.
A distinction must be made between two cases:
1. transfer from within TU Dresden
The modules of the Faculty of Computer Science can usually be recognized quite easily, especially if they are identical to the modules of the teacher training program. The situation is similar if you change the study regulations but your subject remains the same.
In this case, it would be helpful if you could provide us with an overview of the courses you have attended and the module you think should be recognized. You are welcome to send us this overview by e-mail to the Student Advisory Service. If it fits, we will send you the credit transfer application to fill out and discuss the further procedure with you.
With regard to transferring credits from the old to the new study regulations, we also recommend taking a look at the so-called equivalence tables, which the Examination Committee has adopted as the basis for transfers: https://tu-dresden.de/zlsb/lehramtsstudium/im-studium/pruefungen/aequivalenztabellen
2. transfer from outside TU Dresden
Here we need an overview of the modules you have already completed (and which you believe can be credited to the new degree program) as well as a proposal as to which module from the TU Dresden teaching degree program you would like to replace. Furthermore, we require an insight into the content of the module you have completed (e.g. module description), as credit cannot be awarded on the basis of the module title alone.
As a general rule, the content and skills to be acquired in a target module should have been acquired to a large extent at least equivalently through the modules to be credited. The credit points achieved should also be essentially the same or higher. In principle, it is possible for you to have several completed modules recognized together as one target module if you can cover the new module in this way.
Please send us the documents by e-mail to the Student Advisory Service. We will then check this promptly and inform you of the next steps.
