Research Focus
The interactive museum – The continued advancement of digitalization poses substantial challenges for museums while simultaneously creating new opportunities for the mediation of knowledge. Digital offerings facilitate an in-depth engagement with collections through unconventional forms of contextualization that extend beyond traditional exhibition concepts. Interactive museum installations (IMI), in particular, provide a wide range of possibilities for visualization and for the communication of supplementary and advanced information.
