Project Summary
The nature of performing arts let participating artists to constantly search for new means of expression and leads to increasing use of digital media up to sensor based systems and machine learning. These offer a wide range of creative possibilities, but are often inaccessible to smaller productions as a result of lacking technical expertise and budgets. The underlying spatiality of performing arts is used here to propose a spatial interface. This reduces the complexity of designing artistic interactions throughintuitive representations, abstractions and direct manipulation. The aim of this research is to offer artists the opportunity to put their multimodal concepts into practice autonomously with a fluid immersive authoring tool. Its representational spatial character enables the use of immersive technologies and thereby offers new forms of expression for artistic applications without the need of prior technical knowledge.
