In order to successfully complete your studies, it is necessary to successfully pass the module examinations and examinations regulated in the regulations of your study program. Information on examination procedures at the Faculty of Computer Science, on examination-related forms, deadlines, etc. is summarized under General Information from the Examinations Office.
Here you will find important up-to-date information on the examination period.
Examination-related Periods
The core examination period in the winter semester 2022/2023 is
from 06.02.2023 until 04.03.2023.
The registration for the exams takes place during the following periods:
- written examinations: from 03.01.2023 until 15.01.2023

examinations in minor and applied subjects: 03.01.2023 until 15.01.2023
- oral examinations: from 03.11.2022 until 15.01.2023
- semester-long examinations: from 03.11.2022 until 30.11.2022
- language examination: from 09.01.2023 until 22.01.2023
Exam schedule
The planning of the exams for the winter semester 2022/2023 is currently in progress. The examination schedule will be published here. Further information especially concerning exams of the winter semester 2022/2023 will be published on the news page.
Exam enrollment / registration and cancellation of exams
In order to be able to take examinations, you must register for each examination (examination registration). However, you can only register for an examination if you meet the requirements for the examination.
It is generally possible to cancel a written examination without giving reasons up to 3 working days (including Saturday) before the examination date. You can withdraw from oral examinations up to 14 days before the examination date. Further details are specified in the examination regulations for your degree programme. If you have any questions, please contact the relevant contact person, quoting your matriculation number and the complete degree programme.
German-language degree programmes
All other written examinations: Registration for the written examinations (see examination schedule) for the Bachelor's programmes in Computer Science and Media Informatics and the Diplom programme in Computer Science is done online via jExam.
Oral and other examination performances: Registration for oral and other examination performances is based on the corresponding form for the examination performance at the examination office.
Master Computational Modeling and Simulation
Examination registration is normally done via the selma portal.
Only in the cases of the research project (Research Project), the team project, and the master's thesis there are special forms that must be sent to the examination office for examination registration.

Master Distributed Systems Engineering
Examination registration/ deregistration is usually done via the SELMA portal.
Only in the cases of modules DSE-E13 Advanced Topics in Systems Architecture and DSE-E14 Advanced Topics in Distributed Systems as well as internship and master thesis, the registration will be done via the examination office. For this, please contact your contact person at the examination office!

Master Computational Logic (MCL und EMCL) as well as exchange students
For enrolment / registration for exams it is necessary to fill in the corresponding registration forms. Therefore, please contact your contact person at the examination office!
