Since 01.10.2025, new study documents (study regulations, examination regulations and module descriptions) have been in place for the Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, Diplom Computer Science and Master of Computer Science.
For the Master Computational Modeling and Simulation, a second amendment to the statutes has been valid since 01.04.2025.
New students in the 2025 enrolment year were enrolled directly in the new study and examination regulations. All other students will be transferred to the new study and examination regulations on 01.10.2026, i.e. transferred and complete their studies according to the new study and examination regulations.
The transition rules are described below:
General rules
The transition between the study and examination regulations ensures equality between the cohorts. Existing study and examination achievements are transferred on the basis of the equivalence tables. The decisions on this were made by the Examination Committees of the respective degree programs on 21.08.2025 and 04.09.2025.
When transferring, there are modules and examinations that are transferred automatically (ex officio) because there is a clear equivalence (equivalence).
However, there are also modules and examinations that are only transferred on request. Assignment requests are particularly necessary if existing modules are equivalent to several new modules.
Resolution of the Examination Committees (exception)
Resolution of the Examination Committees of 21.08.2025 of the degree programs Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Diploma Computer Science, Master Computer Science:
"The compulsory transfer to the new versions of the study and examination regulations is carried out in accordance with the transitional regulations of 27.05.2025 (official announcement) for all students, with the following exceptions:
Students who have successfully completed all module examinations up to and including 15.09.2026 can complete their studies according to the old version of the study and examination regulations (PO/SO 2009 or PO/SO 2010) when they write their final thesis."
Note: For this purpose, the forms for the registration of theses can also be submitted to the Examination Office for Computer Science after 01.10.2026.
Decision of the Examination Committee of 04.09.2025 for the Master's degree program Computational Modeling and Simulation:
"The compulsory transfer to the new versions of the study and examination regulations will take place in accordance with the transitional regulations of 20.02.2025 (official announcement) for all students, with the following exceptions:
Students who have successfully completed all module examinations up to and including 15.09.2026 can complete their studies in accordance with the old version of the study and examination regulations (MPO/MSO 2020) when they write their final thesis."
Note: For this purpose, the forms for the registration of theses can also be submitted to the Examination Office for Computer Science after 01.10.2026.
Assignment form
For modules and examinations that are not (automatically) transferred ex officio, an assignment request must be made. The options for the information in the assignment form (available online from 01.10.2026) correspond to those in the equivalence tables Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5.
Please fill out the form (from 01.10.2026) digitally, print it out and submit it directly to the Examination Office for Computer Science with a handwritten signature.
Forms submitted by ticket will not be considered and will not be processed.

Implementation and working aids
As a student, you do not have to do anything for all transfers according to the equivalence tables Part 1 and Part 2. All examination credits listed there are transferred within SELMA without any action on your part being necessary.
In order to check your individual study status (as of 01.10.2026), you will be provided with current grade overviews in SELMA by 30.09.2026 in advance of the transfer (compulsory transfer). These can be used for assigning modules or examinations in accordance with the equivalence tables Part 3 to Part 5.
The small print
- If you have not yet passed a module examination, it will not be transferred. This means that you have three new attempts for the failed examinations of the respective modules in accordance with the new study and examination regulations.
- If a compulsory module and the associated final examination have been definitively failed or will be definitively failed in summer semester 2026, it will not be possible to transfer to the new study and examination regulations. In this case, the module examination that was definitively failed according to the previous study and examination regulations forms the basis for de-registration from the degree program.
