We advance distributed and networked systems to positively impact the lives of people
The Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems at the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden headed by Prof. Matthias Wählisch was founded in May 2023. Our mission is to advance distributed and networked systems to positively impact the lives of people.
Cutting-edge Research with Practical Impact
At the Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems, research and teaching focus on scalable, reliable, and secure communication in wired and wireless networks. We work on the design and evaluation of networking algorithms, protocols, and architectures as well as Internet measurements and analysis. We use simulations, analytical evaluations, and real-world experiments to gain a comprehensive view of the problem and solution space. Our efforts are driven by the goal to improve distributed, networked systems based on sound research. Some of our research results escaped from our lab and are now used in practice.
Core team members have been with the Chair of Computer Networks at TU Dresden (Prof. Schill) and the Internet Technologies Lab at Freie Universität Berlin (Prof. Wählisch) before joining the Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems.
