The Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems successfully exploits research results beyond academia in three ways. We found and coordinate open-source projects, engage with network operators, and actively contribute to Internet standardization.

Our ideas and innovations are used in practice
Our research work is driven toward stimulating real-world impact based on first-class scientific results. This challenge has been successfully mastered several times. Our research helped to improve the security of the Internet infrastructure, facilitated new services, and enabled commercial products. We are proud of our contributions to Internet standardization, open source software, and our engagement with network operators.
